Carrying on towards Chunnuck Bair, we passed trenches on other side of the road. We were all amazed how close there were to each other. It seems unbelievable that soldiers ate, slept and lived in these narrow corridors.

Chunnuck Bair is the highest point that the ANZAC soldiers reached after April 25.

Now there is a New Zealand memorial there to commemorate the Kiwi Soldiers who lost their lives in the struggle for this strategic piece of land.

I read the words on the memorial, and then turned to look across the land, and I cried for all those men.
